WHY I BECAME A BOOKKEEPER... 

Bookkeeping is a necessary evil.  ALL businesses need it.  But not all business owners enjoy doing it.  That's where I come in. What may feel like a torturous process for you, is actually a type of euphoria for me.  Sound weird? Let me explain... 

I've always loved numbers.  Math, algebra, accounting, you name it.  Am I a mathematical genius? I wish! I just happen to have a knack for numbers, details, and seeing patterns. (My mother and daughter -number haters- do jokingly call me a freak of nature though.) But to me, working with numbers is fun! So, I decided to use my passion for all things numbers to help other small business owners (who don't particularly care for working with numbers quite as much as I do) free up their time so they can concentrate on doing what THEY love - building and growing their businesses!

How it all started…

I became an over-the-road truck driver in 1996, but I never lost my love for numbers. When online colleges came along and wi-fi hotspots started popping up in truck stops (2004), I went back to school. I earned my Associate’s degree in 2007 (Medical Billing and Coding) and my Bachelor’s in 2010 (Accounting). I guess you could say I was a Road Scholar?? I still wasn’t quite ready to change careers yet though. (Couldn't take the change in income just yet.) Then technology took off again. QuickBooks Online, remote access for QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Hubdoc for document management, and so many other cloud-based applications and software that can be used. It’s amazing! So, I hit the “books” again…

I dove into QuickBooks, Xero, and Hubdoc to earn my certifications and am always learning something new in those areas. I also took refresher courses, since I’d gotten rusty on my bookkeeping/accounting and medical billing & coding skills. Then I hung up my shingle. Blue Arrow Business Solutions, LLC was born! And I couldn’t be more thrilled! I’m finally living my dream and doing it in an even better way than I could have imagined. Instead of working for someone else and possibly never getting to know a client beyond their books, I got to start my own company where everything is more personalized. My clients aren’t just their books. I’m able to get to know them, their businesses, and what they’re passionate about. I get to help them pursue their own dreams! To me, nothing is more professionally fulfilling than that.
